Waverley Camera Club Online Image Resizing
To assist novice members in generating correctly sized and named images
for submission to the competitions, we have generated this simple web
program. Once you are more confident with your editing skills this process
is better achieved your image processing software. Here are some notes
to assist you.
The program:
- sets the colourspace to sRGB,
- resizes to limit of 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high.
- renames the file to match the WCC file naming rules, from the data provided .
In the form below enter the requested details, browse to the full-size
jpeg file you want and click the "Upload File" button.
After a few seconds (it normally takes under 5 seconds may take up to
30 seconds if the server is busy) the program will return an image.
Right-click the image and select "Save Image As" from the context menu
(Firefox) - other browsers have similar wording. Save the renamed,
resized image in a suitable location. Repeat for any other images for
competition, then send these resized images to the competition steward
at
.
Technical details
The program uses the imagick package to resize images using a Lanczos filter.
Details of the competitions, file naming conventions and sizes are at
https://www.waverleycameraclub.org/competitions/
NOTE: this web system DOES NOT submit the files, you need to check
the resized files for quality and send by email.
Please let Geoff know of any problems with this program:
